Manitowak - hoisting of prefabricated components

a unit composed of 10 Botan MCT 385 cranes is working on a large housing development project in Singapore. Their lifting capacity and compact support area are really different

with the increasing popularity of prefabricated structure buildings in the world, the efficiency of this construction method is becoming higher and higher. A project under way in Singapore can be regarded as a model of the progress of prefabrication construction technology

in senbawang, 10 Botan MCT 385 cranes are participating in the construction of 700 apartments in the housing and development board (HDB) project. Although the HDB of the Singapore government has been using prefabrication since the 1980s, this project is different. It is the first project to use an integral bathroom

for the contractor, the biggest challenge facing the project is to find a tower crane that can lift the largest prefabricated component. The initial weight of the component with integral bathroom, including the fixings and joints, is 17T, and the crane should be able to lift this component to the narrow construction site

Huei Teck low, senior project manager of the Singapore company, introduced the difficulties of Construction:

"We searched all over the place. The maximum lifting capacity of most cranes is only 16t, and there is no lifting table we need to lift the bathroom." He said. "We started the oil pump for the crane supplier Manta Equipment Co., Ltd. and the company recommended a 20t Botan MCT 385. After looking at the actual use of the crane, we confirmed that this is the crane suitable for our project."

Manta's Singapore office, headquartered in Hong Kong, leased 10 cranes to the contractor of the project, and the lifting capacity of each crane exceeded the lifting capacity required to lift the bathroom. Through the redesign, the weight of the overall bathroom has gradually decreased to 12t, which is much lower than the maximum lifting capacity of the crane. However, the narrow working area on the construction site is still a challenge
